The first snowmobiles appeared in Wisconsin in the early 1920's. There were no marked trails, no snowmobile clubs and no snowmobile laws. By mid 1960s, snowmobiling was becoming a popular winter sport. Along with the increased number of snowmobiles came problems with noise, property damage and unsafe operation.
In 1968 a small group of snowmobilers in Solon Springs, formed the Solon Springs Snowmobile Club. Today the club, which has been renamed Jackpine Riders Snowmobile ATV Club have volunteers who develop and maintain trails, conduct safety training courses and maintain good landowner relations. Your actions as a safe, responsible rider will insure the future of snowmobiling in Wisconsin.
United We Trail... Divided We Fail
Jackpine Riders are members of the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs who is dedicated to the preservation of snowmobiling throughout the state by monitoring regulations and proposed legisation that could affect our sport. The AWSC is the legislative voice for Wisconsin's snowmobilers and snowmobile clubs. Wisconsin is home to more than 22,000 miles of trails thanks to the efforts of local snowmobile clubs with their tireless volunteers and the support of State and Federal organizations.
